GLOVERSVILLE - The annual picnic for the residents of the Getman Memorial Home took place June 7 instead of the monthly board meeting. Hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni salad, potato salad, cabbage salad, baked beans, potato chips, pickles, olives, fresh fruit with dip and cake were served.
The residents went to the Olympic Diner for the monthly luncheon with transportation provided by some of the board members. This month, the residents decided to go to Pine Brook Golf Club for their monthly luncheon.
During May, the birthday of Doris Albini was celebrated with a dinner and birthday cake, both of her choice.
The weekly church services were performed by the Rev. Laurie Garramone-Rohr, the Rev. Cindy Van Allen, Lay Leader Joyce Royal-Paul, the Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Rendell Torres during May.
In May, the residents had exercise class, took walks, had sing-alongs and dancing, movies and popcorn, made flowers for children, ball toss, coffee hour and snacks, played cards and bingo.
The garden committee board member, Gloria Santa Maria did the porch boxes. The geraniums were donated by Chrissy's Greenhouses, Amsterdam. The urn was done by garden committee board member, Linda Fisher.
Lea Hauserman was appointed the activities director.
Mother's Day was celebrated with a special dinner and corsages donated by Bob Peck from Peck's Flowers.
There will be no board meetings held during July and August.
The next meeting will take place at 1 p.m. Sept. 6.
