Shawn D. Lawyer, 46, of Schenectady, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.
Shawn was born on February 18, 1966, in Schenectady and graduated from Gloversville High School. He also received his associate's degree from a technical college in Michigan and then received a certificate in welding from Arch Welding in Schenectady. He owned and operated his business of trucking and hauling. He enjoyed NASCAR and modified car racing.
Shawn is survived by his loving mother, Judith Lawyer; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his pet, Trevor. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Francis and Beatrice Lawyer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. There will be no calling hours. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Colonie.
