Ruth E. Morris, 74, of Gloversville, N.Y., passed away on June 23, 2012, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, N.Y. She was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Gloversville, N.Y., the daughter of Leon and Marvel Johnson Murray. On May 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ronald W. Morris, who died on July 23, 2005. She was a 1954 graduate of Mayfield High School and attended FMCC. Mrs. Morris made a wonderful home for her family and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was employed in the family business, Sherman's Amusement Park, with her husband and family from 1956 -1983. She then became an operator for Fulmont Message Inc. in Gloversville from 2005 -2009. She was a former member of St. Monica Chapter No. 486 O.E.S. and the Caroga Senior Citizens. Mrs. Morris is survived by her mother, Marvel Murray; a son, Ronald W. (Beth) Morris II of Caroga Lake, N.Y.; five daughters, Terri Richards of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Cathy (Michael Desrochers) Lavery of Gloversville, N.Y., Karen (Alan) Menard of Greenfield, Mass., Lori Weaver of Gloversville, N.Y. and Beth (David ) Putney of Newport, N.Y. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Stanzel of Gloversville, N.Y., Linda Roy of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; thirteen grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jamie, LoriBeth, Emily, Samantha, Caitlin, Aubrey, Leandra, Michael, Patrick, Christopher, Andrew; and 16 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Caylob Medina. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced by the Ehle Funeral Home. Cremation took place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association.
