Joan Monroe, age 62, of Johnstown, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
Born on September 8, 1949, in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Keri Terrell.
She was a member of the V.F. W. in Broadalbin.
Joan worked as a crossing guard for the Johnstown School District.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Monroe; he died April 25, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa VanDeusen and Stacy Monroe, both of Johnstown; one brother, Glen Terrell of Broadalbin; one sister, Shirley Bailey of Northville; grandchildren, Autumn Jackson, Jade VanDeusen and Andrew Casey; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Ball.
A remembrance service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 5 p.m. at Patricia's, South Perry Street, Johnstown.
There will be no calling hours.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.
