AMSTERDAM - Marjorie "Marj" Aney of Palatine Bridge was recently honored as Volunteer of the Year by the Montgomery County Office for Aging at a luncheon at the Raindancer Restaurant. Aney has been an active volunteer for several years. She has been an advocate for older adults as well as a dedicated senior picnic volunteer, according to attorney Del B. Salmon. Salmon also explained that Aney is the front line person he has chosen to represent him and relay important information to his clients. She also is the face of his elder law practice, a news release said.
Aney has become the person many hospital discharge planners, senior organizations, nursing home and adult home administrators turn to when questions arise, the release said.
This annual volunteer recognition event, represented by more than 71 volunteers, was sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Physicians Health Plan. Jeanne So was the guest speaker.
