MAYFIELD - The Bannertown 50 Plus Club members met June 13 at the Mayfield Municipal Center. The social hour was followed by devotions, led by Patrick Keane, who had a reading, "Sunday Prayer" and then led the group in "The Lord's Prayer." The lunch was provided by the Office for Aging.
The meeting was conducted by President Carl Edwards who led with the Pledge of Allegiance. Linda LaVada called the roll; there were 25 people in attendance.
The reports of the secretary and treasurer were accepted as read. Jane Bonfey gave the sunshine report.
Edwards noted an invitation to a luau at the Senior Citizens Service Center of Gloversville & Fulton County had been received. The council meeting will be Monday at the Perth Senior Center.
The club's first bus trip took place on June 14. People from Gloversville and Broadalbin joined the group. The trip was to the Glen Falls House on Round Top Mountain in the Catskills, Greene County, the Chocolate Factory and the Bavarian Bakery. The next trip is scheduled for July 19, and it will be a mystery trip. Call Joan Bezio at 725-6918 for reservations.
The winners of the drawings are as follows: Joan Hime, the door prize; Beverly Burton, the 50-50; Sherin Akey, the $1.
The cookie swap took place.
On Wednesday, the May and June birthdays will be celebrated with cupcakes and ice cream. Bingo is scheduled.
