GLOVERSVILLE - A 19-year-old city resident hit another man with a piece of concrete in an incident on East Pine Street early Friday, according to city police.

Stephen M. Politsch, of 16 Bloomingdale Ave., was charged with attempted assault, a felony, police said.

Police also arrested Erin Smith, 26, of 146 S. Main St., on a misdemeanor charge of menacing during the incident. Police said she threatened the victim with a knife.

The man who was injured in the fight is a 27-year-old city resident, police Capt. John Sira said. Sira said the victim suffered cuts and abrasions from the incident.

The victim was treated at the scene by Fulton County ambulance staff, but was not taken to a hospital.

The cause of the fight remains unknown. Politsch, Smith and the victim know one another, Sira said.

Politsch was sent to Fulton County Jail, Sira said, and was in custody as of late Friday afternoon.

There also was an active warrant for his arrest from Montgomery County Family Court, police said.

Smith was issued a ticket to appear in City Court.
