ALBANY - The Amsterdam Mohawks belted a season-high 19 hits in an 11-0 rout at the Albany Dutchmen on Wednesday night in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Bob Bellizzi Field.

The win was the eighth straight for the Mohawks.

Amsterdam improved to 9-2 with the win to maintain their hold on sole possession of first place in the league.

Jefff Boehm (Kentucky) hit a three-run homer and Nathan Gomez (Marshall) produced four of the team's hits to lead the offense. Evan Stephens (Wake Forest) went 3-for-4. Chase Williamson (Auburn) and Scott Heath (Maine) each had triples in the ninth inning for the Mohawks.

The Mohawks have now recorded shutouts in three of their last four wins and this one was a combined effort two-hitter from starter Connor Kaden (Wake Forest) who started and struck out seven, including four in the first inning. Kevin Archbold (Univ. Albany) threw 2.1 frames of one-hit shutout relief and earned the win. And Matt Gallup (Stony Brook) joined the team for the first time this season after his Seawolves were eliminated in the College World Series in Omaha. He closed out the game with seven straight outs while surrendering just one walk.

Amsterdam's offense has scored seven or more runs six times in the course of their eight-game win streak.

The Mohawks have outscored their opponents 56-15 during the streak.

In the last five games of the streak, Amsterdam has outscored the opposition 35-5.

Amsterdam is at home today with a split doubleheader against Oneonta at 3 and 7 p.m.

Both games will be seven innings and the second annual Chamber Softball Classic will take place between games.

The Mohawks also are home Friday night as part of the sixth annual ParkFest presented by the Wasserman Foundation. The event begins at 4 p.m. with rides, ponies, concessions items and games, etc.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and a post-game fireworks spectacular will follow, courtesy of Rick's RoBo Car Wash.
