Lee F. Foster Jr., 94, of Gloversville, died June 18, 2012, at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Health Care Facility following a long illness.
Born in Gloversville, N.Y. on May 16, 1918, Lee was the son of the late Lee F. Foster Sr. and Julia (Oathout) Foster. He attended Gloversville High School. Lee worked many years on the family farm and then went to work at DeGolyer Lumber Company, General Electric Co., Schenectady Navy Depot, and ended his working career after 28 years with MCA (Decca Record).
Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Anna (Gage) Foster. They were married September 4, 1943, and spent 64 years together. Lee is survived by four daughters, Jo-Ann (Patrick) Clear and Toni (Paul) Christman, both of Gloversville, Marjorie (Vito) Derrico of Johnstown, and Patricia (Richard) Morrison of Mayfield. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Patrick (Jennifer) Clear of Fonda, Heather (Carl) Rossbach of Gloversville, Rachel (Charles) VanDuesen of Broadalbin, Lawrence Snyder of Hagaman, Paula (William) Bagley of Meridale, Brian (Elisha) Christman of Hope, Sandra (Daniel) Saletnik of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Mark (Nicole) Derrico of Gloversville, Ashleigh Foster-Morrison of Mayfield; his special nephew, David Grenier; and eleven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Lee was preceded in death by his sister, Maybelle Elizabeth (Betty) Foster Grenier Demarest; and brother, Manville (Pete) James Foster; and great-grandson, Anthony Lee Christman.
There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
