Food program comes to city

The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York is bringing the Summer Food Service Program to Gloversville.

The program provides free meals to children during the summer when school meals are not available.

Meals are provided to all children 18 and under without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

People interested in receiving more information should contact: Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, 965 Albany-Shaker Road, Latham New York 12110, or call 786-3691.

Meals will be provided to all children at Park Terrace Elementary School, Bloomingdale Avenue, from June 26 to Aug. 17 (closed June 25 and July 4) Monday through Friday. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In addition, children enrolled in Lexington Family Services, 43 Harrison St., will be provided with free meals from June 26 to Aug. 24 (closed July 4) Monday through Friday. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 10 .am. Lunch will be served from noon to 4:30 p.m.
