Clyde W. Moore

Clyde W. Moore, 89, formerly of Mayfield, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at TLC Care Center in Henderson, Nevada.

He was born in Mayfield on September 13, 1922, a son of Wesley H. and Esther Goodemote Moore and attended school in Broadalbin. Mr. Moore was a lifelong area resident and moved to Nevada in 2005.

He was a dairy farmer for several years and was also employed at Broadalbin High School for nearly ten years.

Mr. Moore was a member of the Mayfield Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was a longtime member of the Mayfield Grange where he served as a former master.

He was married to Thelma E. Zimmerman on June 15, 1946, and they cherished fifty years together before her passing on April 20, 1997. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Clyde C. Moore; and a sister, Ruth Phillips.

Survivors include his children, Suzanne Moore of Japan, Jerry E. (Janice) Moore of Gloversville, and Ruth (Jon) Dyer of Las Vegas, Nev.; his grandchildren, Larissa, Jennifer, Amy, Mandi, Michelle, Brian, Joshua, and Emily; several great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Russell) Ford and Irene Zimmerman, both of Gloversville; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery, with Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayfield Methodist Church or to a charity of one's choice, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106, Johnstown.
