Emma L. Lalor, 76, of Caroga Lake, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 16, at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
She was born May 20, 1936, in Flushing, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Hawkins) Tambrino.
Emma attended Flushing College where she earned an Associate's Degree in Nursing. She became and RN and specialized in Pediatrics. Emma worked her entire nursing career at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y. and was the night administrator there until her retirement at the age of 65.

Family was her entire world, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. They would spend summers with her on Caroga Lake and she would travel far and wide just to be with them. She will be very sadly missed.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Lalor (Carol Ann) of Aberdeen, N.J. and Edward Lalor (Jan) of Gloversville; four daughters, Donna Vitureira (Danny) of Bennett, Co., Peggi Lalor of Madeira Beach, Fla., Alyce Barton (Kevin) of Coram, N.Y. and Tricia Jablon (Mark) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; thirteen grandchildren, Michelle, Howard, William, Nicole, Joseph, Thomas, Mathew, Alexis, Erica, Andrew, Matthew and Kaitlyn; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Anna and Marie (and two to be arriving soon); spouse, Edward D. Lalor; and four nieces and one nephew.
In addition to her parents, Emma was predeceased by a grandson, Kevin C. Barton; and a sister, Dorothy Vollmer.
Family and friends are invited and may call today, June 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, thence to the Church of the Holy Spirit, South Main Street, Gloversville, for a funeral mass at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emma's memory to M-CM, P.O.Box 97, Chatham, NY 12037 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
