Mabel J. "Jean" Flansburg, age 79, of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville after a brief illness.
She was born on November 13, 1932, in Johnstown, the daughter of the late John and Mabel Katen Miner.
Mabel worked for many years as a record tester with Decca Records in Gloversville. After her retirement, she became a dedicated homemaker, attending to her residence and family.

Survivors include her four sons, Robert Martish Jr. of Gloversville, William (Rebecca) Martish of Fort Plain, Harry (Jenny) Flansburg Jr. of Gloversville and John (Paula) Flansburg of Canajoharie; three daughters, Robin (Wayne) Cross of Tennessee, Debra (James) Passero of Johnstown and Rebecca (John) Christman of Fort Plain; one sister, Beverly Shults of Gloversville; twenty-five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Martish; second husband, Harry Flansburg; one son, Everett Martish; and one sister, Caroline Lowell.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 19, at 1 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. R.W. Williams will officiate. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
