FONDA - The Montgomery County Board of Elections announced a federal primary election is scheduled for June 26. All registered Republicans in Montgomery County are eligible to vote in this primary election for U.S. senator.

Registered Democrats who live in the newly formed 19th Congressional District are also eligible to vote in the federal primary for U.S. representative candidates.

All of the towns of Canajoharie, Minden, Palatine, Root and St. Johnsville are located in the 19th Congressional District. Due to changes made by state lawmakers this year, the state and local primary election is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 13.
