George R. Krehel, 87, of Northville, N.Y., died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. He was born on October 27, 1924, in Garfield, N.J., the son of the late John and Elizabeth Krehel. He was a United States Navy veteran.
George was employed for many years at the A & P Tea Company in Montvale, N.J., as a meat cutter.
On September 6, 1947, he married Dorothy Kemmerer, who predeceased him on June 22, 2007.
Survivors include his son, George Krehel Jr. and his wife, Del of Northville; one brother, Michael Krehel of Stuart, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife, Danielle Krehel of Ramsey, N.J. and Carolyn and her husband, Jack Camp of Waldwick, N.J.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Northville Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Northville. Burial will be held in Saratoga National Cemetery.
