MAYFIELD - Three Mayfield Junior-Senior High School students are facing trespassing charges after allegedly skateboarding inside the building on a day school was closed.
The students, all 14-year-old boys, entered the school on School Street on June 3 while the building was open for a church service. School officials and state police said a review of surveillance cameras the next day revealed someone had been in the building.
State police said Principal Robert Husain recognized one of the teens, who admitted to being in the building with two friends. The teens told state police they skateboarded around the gym. Superintendent Paul Williamsen said there was no damage.
The teens - whose names were not released because of their youthful-offender status - were charged with criminal trespass.
