MOHAWK - A driver stopped on Broadway for not wearing his seat belt was jailed Tuesday after police said a search of his vehicle yielded large quantities of drugs.

State police pulled over Michael T. Berry, 33, of Rochester while he was driving on Broadway around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, and troopers said they saw immediate evidence of drug possession.

State police said they found 28 grams of crack cocaine in the vehicle, and after a K-9 unit swept the vehicle, 3 grams of marijuana were found in the driver's-door console and 35 grams were found in the trunk.

Berry was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana, which was upgraded to a misdemeanor because the amount was more than 25 grams. He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and $20,000 bond.
