Joseph attended school in Owls Head, N.Y. until the family moved to Bleecker, N.Y. in 1929.
Joseph was a dedicated and hard worker starting his first job with Martin and Naylor Co. of Gloversville, N.Y. where he was employed from 1934 to 1949. During that same time he was employed part time with the Economy Cab Company. In 1949 he began employment with the Railway Express where he continued to work faithfully until his retirement in 1967.
