CAROGA LAKE - Royal Mountain Ski Area opened its 28th season of Monster Energy Supercross on Wednesday.
A field of 129 riders was in attendance for the event.
Several area riders picked up opening-night wins.

Amsterdam's Geoffrey Hoyt won the mini quad 51-90cc production class, while Fonda's Tyler Blowers won the mini 80 9- to 11-year-old class. Blowers also was second in the 65cc 7- to 11-year-old class.
Johnstown's Brandon Handy picked up the win in the 65cc 7- to 11-year-old class., while Salisbury Center's Noah Handy won the mini 80 12- to 15-year-old class. Brandon Handy also was second in the junior mini 9- to 11-year-old class, while Noah Handy was fourth in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class.
Broadalbin's Fred Hansen won the quad amateur class, while Gloversville's E.J. McAuliffe won the quad novice class.

Two riders won two different classes on Wednesday night.
Whitesboro's Mitch Daugherty won the 122-250cc expert and 122-open expert classes, while Ballston Spa's Derek Bracht won the 122-250cc novice and 122-open novice classes.
Other winners included Clifton Park's Gavin Betts (50cc junior stock 4-6), Edmeston's Tyrick Wheeler (50cc senior stock 7-8), Gansevoort's James Motto Jr. (quad schoolboy 12-15 modified), Schenectady's John Grassia (122-250cc amateur), Ballston Spa's Mike Bracht (plus-30 expert), Guilford's Shawn Macumber (plus-30 amateur), Mt. Marion's T.J. Albright (open mini 10-16), Sloansville's Mark Molesky (junior mini 9-11) and Ravena's Kevin Scarcella (122-open amateur).
Several area riders posted top-five finishes.
Johnstown's Bennett Melita was third in the 50cc junior stock 4- to 6-year-old class, while Mayfield's Jordan Miller was fourth in the mini quad 51-90cc production class.
In the 50cc senior stock 7-8 year old class, Ronnie Christman of Gloversville was fourth and Brandon Hoyt of Gloversville was fifth.
Amsterdam's Katharine Hoyt was second in the quad schoolboy 12-15 modified class.
In the 122-250cc expert class, Gloversville's Adam Handy was second, Mayfield's B.J. Smith was third and Johnstown's Phil Manchester was fourth.
Smith also placed second in the 122-open expert class, while Manchester was fifth.
In the 122-250cc novice class, Northville's Daniel Ashcroft was second and Broadalbin's Kevin Swartz was fifth.
Ashcroft also was third in the 122-open novice, while Canajoharie's Ricky Lippman was fourth.
Broadalbin's Colby Watras was second in the quad novice class, while Broadalbin's Andrew Hughes was third.
Royal Mountain will return to action June 20.
