GLOVERSVILLE - City police on Monday arrested a 51-year-old city man on a felony sex charge in connection with what authorities say was sexual contact with an 8-year-old girl.
Police said Michael Mauro, of 7 Burr St., was charged with one felony count of predatory sexual assault against a child.
The investigation was initiated after the Detective Unit was contacted by Fulton County Child Protective Services and advised of an alleged sexual offense against a child, police said.

Police said an interview with the child was conducted at the Fulton County Child Advocacy Center in Johnstown.
Mauro was arraigned in City Court before Judge John Clo and sent to the Fulton County Jail without bail.
