Broadalbin-Perth seeks volunteers

June 12, 2012
The Leader Herald

BROADALBIN - The Broadalbin-Perth Central School District is looking for volunteers to share their talents and hobbies with students during its inaugural Patriot Summer Enrichment Camp.

The enrichment camps will take place July 16 through Aug. 10, and will be open to students entering grades one through nine. Most of the camps will run for one week, 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. Camp instructors may choose to run their programs for longer than one week, or to offer their camp during multiple weeks to different groups of students. Instructors also will choose which age groups of children they want to work with.

Instructors will be paid $20 for every student who enrolls in their one-week camp. Instructors who run two-week camps will earn $40 per student. The minimum and maximum number of participants will be left to the discretion of each camp instructor. Instructors also will be provided up to $50 to spend on camp supplies.

Instructors should design their courses with the students' ages in mind. Course offerings could cover many topics, including cross-stitching, yoga, summer games, arts and crafts activities, beading, board games, dancing, acting, gardening, woodshop and cooking.

To sign up to be an instructor, contact Jennie Rogers at rogersj@bpcsd.org or 848-4033. The deadline for instructor registration is Friday.
