AMSTERDAM -A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident Sunday in the town, Montgomery County sheriff's deputies reported today.
Deputies said Robert M. Bower, of 229 Waite Road, Amsterdam, was killed about 2 a.m. on Waite Road.
Deputies said Bower was traveling at a high rate of speed on a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle when his bike struck a parked vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Montgomery County Coroner Joseph Riley and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital.
Assisting the sheriff's office was the Amsterdam Police Department, Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department and the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
It was the second fatal motorcycle accident in the area in three days. A motorcyclist died in a Friday accident in the Saratoga County town of Day.
