50 Plus Club plans cookie swap

MAYFIELD - A small group of seniors met for the Fulton?County Office for Aging luncheon and the Bannertown 50 Plus Club meeting May 30.

Carl Edwards, president, opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Joan Bezio, membership, welcomed two new members, Fern Evans and Jean Hall.

The reports of the secretary and treasurer were given.

Jane Bonfey continues to send birthday wishes to members. Let her know of shut-ins who may need a cheery note, a news releases said.

Edwards presented Larry Akey of the Mayfield Presbyterian Church with the earnings of the day for the food pantry. Akey noted about 46 families are being served a month and 377 families have been served thus far this year.

Edwards has tickets for the Aug. 2 OFA senior picnic at Concordia Park. He noted the Long Term Care Program will be Friday at the Forest Hill Towers.

On June 25, the council meeting will take place at the Perth Senior Center.

At the meeting Wednesday, the club will have a cookie swap. Call OFA at 736-5650 to make reservations for the luncheon.

The drawings took place. Ginnie Hall won the door prize and the $1. Lorrie Valk won the 50-50 and her name was drawn as the winner of the basket.
