On behalf of all the Girl Scouts and Girl Scout leaders, I would like to thank the Gloversville Memorial Day Parade Committee for allowing us to take part in such a wonderful celebration. As the grand marshals and the mistresses of ceremonies, we were honored and humbled to stand among veterans and serving soldiers, who, like all of us, gave thanks to all those who have served our country.
As Girl Scouts, we wear our uniforms with pride, knowing that so many girls and women before us made the Girls Scouts who we are over the past 100 years. The unforgettable experience that was given to us this past Memorial Day always will be cherished and serve as a reminder to us that when we repeat our "Promise" (On my honor, I will try: to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout law) we all will all hold are heads a little higher.
With much thanks.
