Two charged in city stabbing incident

GLOVERSVILLE - A man and woman were charged after a domestic dispute around midnight Sunday that involved a knife and a plastic pole on Spring Street.

Tyronne Allen, 38, of 80 Spring St., was charged by city police with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, both misdemeanors.

Kimberly Gerighty, 42, of the same address, was charged with felony second-degree assault.

Police said that during a domestic dispute at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Allen struck Gerighty on the head with a plastic pole and then choked her. During the argument, police said, Gerighty stabbed Allen in the arm with a knife.

Both were treated at Nathan Littauer Hospital for injuries, according to a news release from city police.

According to the news release, both people were processed and held.
