Paula J. Langr Van Nostrand, 72, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully after a long illness, Friday, June 1, with her loving family at her side.
Paula was born in Gloversville, December 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Frank and Pauline (Beader) Langr of Northville. She was a 1958 graduate of Northville Central School, a business major and a member of the band, a drum majorette and a cheerleader. She was a member of the Northville Methodist Church choir. Paula was a Girl Scout and later came to be a leader in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts for her children.
On December 24, 1958, she married Richard O. Van Nostrand, who survives. Together, they shared more than 53 wonderful years together.

Paula was previously employed by the family's business, Langr's Market in Northville, Tuccio's Sugar Bowl in Northville as well as P&C Food Market, G. Levor & Co. and National Auto of Gloversville. Paula also was a licensed real estate salesperson. She was president of the Fratonmarpau Beach Association on the Great Sacandaga Lake and member of the former Ladies Wednesday Night Out Bowling League at Kobuskie Lanes.
In addition to her beloved husband, Richard, of Gloversville, survivors include a son, Richard Van Nostrand (Kathleen) and a daughter, Paula Lynn Ferrara, both of Gloversville; four grandchildren, Ross David Van Nostrand, Ben Michael Van Nostrand, Christopher David Van Nostrand (Jenai) and Katelyn Grace Ferrara (Brian); three great-grandchildren, Christian Cary Van Nostrand, Jadeyn Cary Van Nostrand and Brianna Derosa; a brother, Frank Langr (Jean) of Lake Luzerne; two sisters, Antonie M. Close of Mayfield and Mary Ann Blanchet (Alain) of Clifton Park and Northville; two aunts, Dorothea Langr and Frances Perrone; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are Paula's beloved cats, Beebee, Tinker Bell and Buddy.

Weiss, Lataillade, Hassam and Brandis, the Ambulance Service of Fulton County and her many caregivers during Paula's long illness, many thanks and gratitude are given.
In accordance with Paula's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
