Dolgeville's Bliss qualifies for state meet

CICERO - Dolgeville's Nichole Bliss won the Section III Division II title in the shot put Thursday at Cicero-North Syracuse to earn her second straight trip to the state championships.

Bliss won with a throw of 37-3 1/4. Remsen's Megan Will was second with a throw of 35-5 1/4.

Bliss also placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 91-1. Adirondack's Sierra Laveck won the event with a throw of 100-8.

James Doolittle placed fifth in the 400 hurdles for the Blue Devils with a time of 1:02.91. Holland Patent's Noah Roberts won the event with a time of 57.95 seconds.

Ray Ruggerio also competed for the Dolgeville boys, posting a time of 11.97 seconds in the 100-meter preliminaries.
