GLOVERSVILLE - A city man was charged Saturday after police say he caused a disturbance on North Street and then repeatedly banged his head on the rear window of a patrol car while being taken into custody.
Joseph R. Hoyt, 31, of 110 Francis St., was charged at 6:43 p.m. with disorderly conduct and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Police were dispatched to North and Union streets for a report of males fighting in the street.
Police said when they arrived, the reported brawl had dispersed, but during the investigation, Hoyt began yelling and swearing at people on the sidewalk.
Police said after they placed Hoyt in the back of the patrol car, he began hitting his head on the rear window, causing damage to the window.
He was arraigned before Judge John Clo and sent to the Fulton County Jail on an undisclosed amount of bail.
