Archaeologist talks about Fort Hunter

FORT?HUNTER - The Friends of Schoharie Crossing will sponsor a lecture Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at?Enders House, located adjacent to the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site Visitor Center, 129?Schoharie St.

Bureau of Historic Sites Archaeologist Mike Roets will present information about the recent discovery of the northeast blockhouse of Fort Hunter, which was exposed during the flood of Tropical?Storm Irene, a news release said. The fort's history and future direction for the archaeology at Schoharie Crossing also will be discussed.
