HAGAMAN - The Amsterdam Family YMCA AAU boys ninth-grade travel basketball team will host a "You've Been Hooped" fundraiser throughout May.
The event is a spin-off of the flamingo flocking fundraiser, and members of the basketball team will place a "You've Been Hooped" sign, equipped with a basketball hoop, on lawns throughout the area.
For $20, community members can determine the next place within a 10-mile radius the hoop will appear. A $40 donation can have it bounce within 20 miles. A donation bag and note is left with the hoop which will bounce to the next location within 24 hours.
Money raised will help pay for tournament fees, uniforms and travel expenses.
