Anne P. Amadon

Anne P. Amadon, 94, formerly of Old Piseco Road, Piseco, N.Y., died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Folts Home in Herkimer, N.Y., where she resided for the past 15 years.

She was born on September 9, 1917, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Wasil and Mary Chanes Polivka. She was a high school graduate and received an associate's degree in nutrition from Cobleskill College.

She was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She previously worked at various food establishments and a phone company.

She attended the Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Piseco Women's Club.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert (Debi) Amadon of Fairport, N.Y., and William Amadon of Essex, N.Y.; a daughter, Joanne Amadon of Fairfield, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Donna Amadon of Dolgeville, N.Y.; two stepsons, Charles (Emmaline) Amadon of South Glens Falls, NY and Richard (Donna) Amadon of Piseco. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry F. Amadon, on August 12, 1985, and her son, John Amadon.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, in the Higgins Bay Cemetery, Piseco. She will be buried next to her husband, Henry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Piseco Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the Piseco Volunteer Fire Department.
