FONDA - The annual Lolly Pop 200 will be run Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Fonda-Fultonville track.
The event is part of the Fonda-Fultonville Relays meet, which will start at noon. The Lolly Pop 200 is a 200-meter (1/2 lap) race for children.
The runners will be broken up into three divisions. Division 1 will be for children 4 years old or younger. Division 2 will be for children ages 5 and 6. Division 3 will be for children ages 7 and 8.
Each division will be placed on the starting line for the 200-meter dash, one division at a time, starting with the youngest runners. Running as a group, the children will race to the finish, where they will be given their Lolly Pop Award.
The race is designed to promote the sport of track and field, according to a news release, and is open to any visitors who have children who want to participate.
The check-in time is 12:45 p.m., so the racers can be organized into their groups before the start at 1 p.m.
