ARIETTA - An Edinburg logger suffered a "severely broken" leg in a logging accident Thursday morning, Hamilton County Sheriff Karl Abrams said today.
The name of the victim was unavailable this morning. The accident occurred at 11:57 a.m.
Abrams, a member of the Piseco Volunteer Fire Department, said that agency and personnel from the Caroga Volunteer Fire Department responded to an area a half-mile into woods on the west end of Kennels Pond to rescue the logger.
The victim was discovered by a fellow cutter, Abrams said.
The sheriff said a motorboat was used to get to the scene and the victim was transported to Route 10 and then to Nathan Littauer Hospital.
