FORT PLAIN - Junior lefty Marcus Failing struck out 15, walked one and allowed just five hits to lead Fort Plain to a 13-4 win over Canajoharie in a Western Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday.
Chris Hanifin had two singles, three RBIs and three runs scored for the Hilltoppers, who scored 12 runs over the first three innings.
Harold Dettmer added a single, double, RBI and a run scored for Fort Plain (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Tim Wolfe had a double and two RBIs. Jesse Heroth added a double and three runs scored for the Hilltoppers.

Fort Plain will host Rensselaer in a non-league contest Monday at noon, while Canajoharie will host Johnstown in a non-league contest today at 4:15 p.m.

BERNE - Ben Geist tossed a no-hitter as Berne-Knox-Westerlo rolled to a Western Athletic Conference win over Mayfield.
Geist struck out 14 and walked five to earn the win on the mound. He also helped his cause at the plate, smacking two triples and driving in four runs.
Tyler Sigond added a double, two singles and three RBIs for BKW.
Mayfield (1-1 overall, 0-1 WAC) will host Broadalbin-Perth today at 4:15 p.m.

John Kiernan and Tylor Blowers picked up the lone hits for Northville (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC).

VOORHEESVILLE - Mike Young had two doubles, a single and four RBIs to lead Voorheesville to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.
The Blackbirds trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the third before plating six runs to grab a 6-2 advantage.
Nico Church had a double and two singles for Voorheesville (3-0 overall, 2-0 Colonial), while Anthony Scaccia added an RBI double. Charles Parslow had an RBI double in the third inning for Fonda-Fultonville (0-2 overall, 0-2 Colonial).
