EPHRATAH - State police have made a second arrest after an investigation into reports of bad checks being passed at the Ephratah Rod & Gun Club.

Troopers arrested Jason J. Chamberlain, 35, of Johnstown, at 11:30 a.m. March 22 at state police barracks in Glen and charged him with conspiracy and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors.

He was charged after police secured a statement a week earlier from another suspect, Jamie L. Hillhouse, 36, of Gloversville, who was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony.

They were due to answer the charge in Town Court last week. The status of the case was not available today.
