Kym Marie Swarts, the daughter of Clara and Stephen Swarts of Gloversville, was united in marriage to Timothy DeFranco, the son of Donna Tschetter of Malta, Saratoga County, and John DeFranco of Florida, at 4 p.m. Aug. 5, 2011.

The ceremony took place at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville. The Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiated.

The bride was escorted by her father.

The maid of honor was Joni Swarts of Ballston, Mass., sister of the bride. The bridal attendants were Brenda Atherton-Ely, sister of the bridegroom; Maryellen Mead of Syracuse, Onondaga County, Michelle Iveryk and Jill Plumadore, both of Gloversville; and Britni Trapasso of Buffalo, Erie County.

The best man was Greg Delaney of Albemarle, N.C. The ushers were Kiere Neulander, Kip O'Rouke-Brown, Mike West, Paul Zagamy, Davey Erickson, all of Saratoga.

A reception for 150 guests took place at the Glen Sanders Mansion, Scotia.

A wedding trip took place in Cape May, N.J. The couple resides in Saratoga.

The bride teaches second grade at Boulevard Elementary School, Gloversville.

The bridegroom is employed as an engineer at General Electric, Schenectady.
