Wilma Ellen Johnsen, 84, of Moscow Road, Hubbardsville, N.Y., died Wednesday, February 29, 2012, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
She was born on January 17, 1928, the daughter of the Rev. Alfred and Edna (Seibert) Dence. Upon graduation from practical training school, Wilma obtained her RN degree from Binghamton City Hospital. For much of her life, she was involved in geriatric nursing as well as teaching Sunday school and Bible studies.
She is survived by her son, Daniel R. Johnsen of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; daughter and son-in-law, and Deborah L. and Bruce Donker of Hubbardsville, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Sarah (Edward) Duncan of Wilder, Vt., Rebecca, Christy and Caleb Donker of Hubbardsville; one great-grandchild, Gabriel Duncan; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Ann Dence of South Westerlo, N.Y.; Merrill and Laura Dence of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Rachel Donker.

A memorial service for Wilma will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, from the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Lake Moraine Road, Hamilton, N.Y.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Wilma's memory to the New Life Christian School, 1528 River Road, Hamilton, NY 13346.
