Couple celebrates wedding anniversary

Raymond and Alice Smith of Gloversville celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with the renewal of their wedding vows on Dec. 20, 2011. The ceremony took place at the First Free Methodist Church, Phelps Street, Gloversville. The Rev. Will Sharp officiated.

The couple married on Dec. 24, 1947.

The ceremony was attended by family, friends and church members from the Gloversville area, Galway and Phoenix, Ariz.

A reception followed at Harold's Restaurant, Gloversville. They also were honored at a fellowship at the church on Jan. 1.

They have three daughters, Gail Crisafulli and Pamela Eschler of Gloversville, and Deborah Smith of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of whom attended. Their son, Raymond J. Smith is deceased. They are planning to go on a New England cruise in July to celebrate.
