Gale Ann Johnson

Ms. Gale Ann Johnson, 62, of Otsego St., Canajoharie, passed away on February 15, 2012, at Little Falls Hospital with her loving family at her side.

She was born on July 2, 1949, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Melvin Burrell Johnson Sr. and Elva Lanora (Belcher) Johnson. She graduated from the Utica School of Commerce. Gale was a lifetime member of The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and also was a member of DAV.

Gale absolutely loved and adored her children and grandchildren. She was a very loving mother, nana and sister. She loved to go for rides with her sister, Brenda, and go to the movies with her friend, Pauline Gazman. She was Lanora's "best friend." Gale loved animals.

She is survived by her son, Delbert Longway Jr. of Salisbury Center; her daughters, Tialisa Eckler and her husband, David, of Canajoharie and Lanora Romer and her significant other, Raymond Kenniston, of Ilion; her brothers, Melvin Johnson Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Caroga Lake and Neil Johnson Sr. of Florida; half-brother, William Johnson of Queensbury; her sisters, Brenda Purpura of Oppenheim and Cindy Providence and her husband, Richard, of Florida; her grandchildren, Richard, Alicia, Rochelle, Dylan, Matthew, Micheal, Amanda, David Jr., Kayla, Ryan and William; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, David Longway; and by her brothers, Richard Sr., Daniel Sr. and Wayne Jr. Johnson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012. There will be a gathering at Stratford Methodist Church, Route 29, Stratford, following the service. Burial will take place in the spring at Curtis Corners Cemetery.
