Teen faces charges after house party

February 9, 2012
The Leader Herald

GLEN - A 17-year-old Saugerties male has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child following a party in which alcohol was served to minors on Reynolds Road, state police said.

Cody A. Christman was arrested at 11:50 a.m. Jan. 4 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, giving a false written statement and unlawfully dealing with a child.

State police said they first received a report of a burglary Jan. 2 at 3003 Route 5S. Authorities determined the address was the scene of a party serving alcohol to underage people.

Police said their investigation revealed Christman hosted the party at his family's former residence. Signs of forced entry to the unoccupied home initially caused a report of burglary. During the investigation, Christman made a false written statement, which added to the charges against him, police said.

Christman was issued an appearance ticket.
