Daniel and Patricia Hoye of Gloversville announce the engagement of their daughter, Alana Rose Hoye, to John-Paul Barnaba, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Barnaba of Westbury, Nassau County, and Kathleen and John Hakker of New Hampshire.
Hoye, who is a graduate of Gloversville High School, received a bachelor's degree in international studies from Le Moyne College and is a graduate of Syracuse University with a master's degree in French literature. She is the founder and president of Ahoy New York Tours and Tasting LLC, New York City.
Barnaba is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in political science and a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Suffolk County, with a master's degree in public policy. He is a history teacher at the Nativity of Our Blessed Lady, Bronx, Westchester County.
