Sara Katharine Hiller, the daughter of Jon and Ida Hiller of Vienna, Va., was united in marriage to Jared Scott Lanphere, the son of Anna Lanphere and Andrew DeGolyer of Gloversville and Gregory Lanphere of Australia, on Oct. 1, 2011.

The bride is the granddaughter of Rosario and Josephine Nicotra of Syracuse, Onondaga County. The bridegroom is the grandson of Frank and Yolanda Cerasia and Marilyn Lanphere of Gloversville.

The ceremony took place at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canandaigua, Ontario County. The Rev. Thomas Moll officiated.

The readings were given by Laura Hiller, sister of the bride and by Christopher Lanphere, brother of the bridegroom.

The maid of honor was Laura Hiller. The bridal attendants were Iris Warchall, Nicole Nelson, Kelly Flynn and Katherine Esselbaum.

The best man was Benjamin Boswell. The groomsmen were Frank Fernandez, cousin of the bridegroom; Rudolph Sohl, Brice Shulman, Bradley Turner and Blaec Shaw.

A reception took place at the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake.

The wedding trip to the Caribbean is planned for early this year. The couple now resides in Arlington, Va.

The couple met at Syracuse University from where they both graduated.

The bride works at Sage Communications, Vienna, Va.

The bridegroom works at Liquidity Services Inc., Washington, D.C.
