December 31, 2011
The Leader Herald

JOHNSTOWN - The Willing Helper's Home for Women Board of Managers recently had its monthly meeting at the home. The meeting was conducted by President Nancy VanDenburgh and opened with a prayer for guidance. The reports of the secretary and treasurer, as well as the various committee reports, were given and accepted. The status of the residents was updated.

There were two birthdays celebrated during the month. Both women received a meal of their choice and a floral arrangement from the board, the usual custom, a news release said.

New carpeting was recently installed by Ruby & Quiri. The women participated in holiday activities including shopping, games and musical entertainment provided by local musicians. The religious services have been offered by the Holy Trinity Church, the Reformed Church, the Pilgrim Holiness Church and the Church of Christ.

Following the business meeting, the residents, board members and staff had a Christmas party and refreshments. Santa Claus gave gifts to each resident. The music was provided by Fran and Frank.

The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 19.
