Bannertown Seniors plan S.D. trip

MAYFIELD - The Bannertown Seniors met Thursday with Carl Edwards leading in the devotion and "The Lord's Prayer." The Fulton?County Office for Aging Holiday luncheon was served with 20 members present.

Edwards opened the meeting by saluting the flag. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read and accepted.

Joan Bezio reported there will be a trip to South Dakota from Sept. 28, 2012, to Oct. 2, 2012, which will cost $875. Nila Edwards talked about the Christmas party at MaryAnn's scheduled for Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.

Sue Wemple presented the slate of officers: Carl Edwards, president; Linda LaVada, vice president; Bev Burton, secretary and Joan Bezio, treasurer. They will be voted on Dec. 14.

The group welcomed a new member, Florence Sleezer.

The Mayfield Fire Department, along with the Duanesburgh Fire Department, are collecting Christmas decorations, such as artificial trees, ornaments and garland, for the flood victims in Schoharie County. Anyone interested in giving any of these items should take them to the Municipal Building in Mayfield.

Bezio won the door prize and Ginny Hall won the 50-50 raffle. Marilyn Goodwin won the basket raffle.

The next meeting is scheduled Nov. 30 with Anne Malik and the Wemple cookie committee.

The meeting was adjourned.
