The Leader Herald

JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown High School class of 1946 celebrated its 65th anniversary on Oct. 19 with a luncheon at the Holiday Inn. There were 28 members and guests in attendance.

Marie Kitchen Valachovic was mistress of ceremonies and gave the welcome.

Alan Cole gave both the invocation and benediction. A moment of silence in honor of the 65 class members who died took place.

Jerry Hamm, Don Davis and Merrill Hoffman read humorous readings and anecdotes.

The out-of-state members - Joe Russo of Georgia; Audrey and Bob Fairchild and Robert Case of Florida?- all sent their greetings.

Those in attendance agreed to meet Sept. 19, 2012, to celebrate their 66th anniversary and those who planned this reunion?- Marilyn House Johnson, Beverly Pitts Cole and Theressa Zilka Sweet - should again be in charge.

Following the benediction, the Alma Mater and Victory Song of Johnstown High School were sung.
