The Leader Herald

DOLGEVILLE - The Oppenheim Senior Citizens met on Sept. 6. After a covered dish dinner, Jann Fouse opened the business meeting. There was a moment of silence for deceased member Dorothy Hodge. The readings were titled "Grandparents Day" and "Spiritual Adjustment."

Joyce Near won the raffle.

The new members, Eilien Zaklukiewiz, Ceil Krat, and Arlene Metzler were welcomed by the seniors.

The next meeting will be Monday and the hostesses will be Linda Parisella, Erma Voorhees and Gloria Hazzard.

The seniors will have their seventh annual "make it-bake it-sew it-grow it" lunch and auction. The auction will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the center, on Tobacco Road. Everything at the auction is homemade by the seniors. The lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the menu features clam chowder, chili, hot dogs and a beverage. There also will be a bake sale. A quilt will be raffled off at 2 p.m.
