Broadalbin seniors host special speaker

BROADALBIN - The Broadalbin Senior Citizens met Aug. 31 for their meeting and the Office for Aging luncheon with 34 people in attendance. President Joe McDonald presided over the meeting. "The Lord's Prayer" and the Pledge of Allegiance were recited.

The reports of Marge Gunderson, secretary, and Phil Guadagno, treasurer, were accepted as read. Gunderson also read the thank you notes.

Toni Hallenbeck, the Christmas party chairman, noted there will be a $5 grab bag for the party. The signups should be made with the committee.

Laura McDermott was the raffle winner; and the two extra prize winners were Dennis Jacobs and Hallenbeck.

Donna Chambers, program chairwoman, noted the next meeting will be Wednesday. The program will be Bert Longbotbam, who will give a presentation on his trip to Africa, which will include the animals and the area. The program will be around 12:30 p.m. and anyone can attend. Any senior who wants to make cookies can contact Chambers.

The seniors who want the luncheon must make reservations. The group is also reminded to bring food for the local food pantry.
