Shirell Selene Sheffield, the daughter of the late Ronald and Virginia Sheffield of New York City, was united in marriage to Doren Gray, the son of the late Sidney and Myrtle Gray of Gloversville, at 3 p.m. Aug. 6.

The ceremony took place at the Foothill United Methodist Church, Gloversville. The Rev. Robert R. Daggs and the Rev. Ruby J. Smith officiated.

The bride was escorted by her son, Ronell Sheffield.

The maid of honor was Tonia Kane of Gloversville, niece.

The bridal attendants: were Gail Ligon of Newport News, Va., Darlene McCurry of Pennsylvania, and Cynthia Santiago of New York City, all cousins; Denise Ameyaw, Marsha Plemons and Nadine Mathias, all of Gloversville. The junior bridesmaid was Larae Powell of New Jersey, granddaughter. The flower girl was Aliyah Gray, granddaughter, and Alecea Jones, niece, both of Gloversville.

The best man was Thomas Jones of Gloversville, nephew. The groomsmen were: Doren Gray Jr. of New York City and Doren Gray III of Gloversville, sons; Charles McCurry Jr. of Pennsylvania, cousin; Edward Hill Jr. of Buffalo, Erie County, nephew. The ringbearer was Andrew Gray of Gloversville, grandson.
