Johnstown club plans Lake George trip

August 20, 2011
The Leader Herald

JOHNSTOWN - The following is for the Johnstown 50 Plus Club, housed in the Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizens Center, 109 E. Main St.

There were 55 people who attended the picnic last week. The weather allowed the group to be in the park. There was a cookout with plenty of salads and desserts. Prizes were given out all day. The feature was "polka-dots" and a paneled group of peers judged the best outfit.

This coming week will include a cold cut plate lunch at 1 p.m. Attendees should bring a dish to pass and a place setting. After lunch, a guest speaker, Johnstown's historian Noel Levee, will be at the center at 2 p.m. with some local historical information to share. All are invited.

Monday is bocce and the bonus game will be Aug. 29.

Sept. 8 is the trip to Lake George, Warren County, for the luncheon and show.

Sept. 28 is the trip to the Foxwood Casino, the production "Putting on the Ritz" and more. Seats are still available. Call 762-4643 for information.

Tickets are available now at the center for the Sept. 22 card party. At the card party, the members will have a Chinese auction with gift cards as prizes.

The Rite Aid Pharmacy will be doing several flu clinics at the center this fall beginning Sept. 15. A prescription is not needed to receive a vaccine, but those who intend to participate need to sign up at the center ahead of time to ensure the correct number of vaccines are available.

For more information, call the center at 762-4643.
