This past month, I had the misfortune of becoming quite ill and the good fortune to be admitted to our local hospital. Due to the nature of my illness, I was attended to by the caring individuals in many of Nathan Littauer Hospital's departments, including those in the ER, OR, recovery, X-ray, lab, respiratory, dietary and housekeeping. Each and every staff member treated me, my family and friends with respect and compassion in a professional manner.
I cannot express, in words, the gratitude I feel for every caregiver I encountered during my stay in the pediatrics department. They were so kind and caring. I received the highest quality of care that one could only hope for. It is my hope that NLH continues to provide the best for those in need and that management appreciates the quality personnel it has. May they soon be able to settle their labor issues with their employees.
We, as a community, cannot afford to lose any of these professionals. Also, thank you, Dr. Filippone.
